Below is the Community First application and guidance forms for local groups to apply to. There is a very tight turnaround on this pot of funding this year- all money must be allocated before June.  Applications must reach Barbara Burton by 21st May 2012.  Could you please encourage any groups in the Tonge and Haulgh area ONLY to apply for funding for any projects that they would like to fund between £250 and up to £2500.  All projects must meet at least one of the priorities below:

Priority 1 – Bringing Communities Together – Community Cohesion

This priority will focus on activities which bring different people together from Tonge with the Haulgh who might not ordinarily meet.  Examples could be intergenerational, cultural or local neighbourhood activities.  The aim of this priority is to create situations in which people can meet in order to recognise common causes and interests.

Priority 2 – Improving the Physical Environment

This priority aims to stimulate community action around improving Tonge with The Haulghs environment, both practically and in terms of forming or strengthening interests groups to address local environmental issues such as making the most of our green spaces.

Priority 3 – Improve the Health, Wellbeing and Welfare of all our community

This priority is about health, from leading healthy lifestyles to making the area a safe and welcoming place to live for all.  To support this priority, ideas may include; Healthy eating on a budget, importance of exercise at all ages, improve prospects for employment by creating opportunities in volunteering and increase confidence and aspiration.
